The old Kitchen
The apartment is located in Guadalajara, Mexico. The building had several issues, including slab cracks, structural pathologies, and fissures in the downspouts that caused humidity and surface detachment. A kitchen renovation gave the apartment new life, significantly refreshing the overall first impression. At the client’s request, the work was carried out in stages—so existing doors and flooring were preserved.
We proposed increasing storage and service capacity, opening up the enclosed kitchen by demolishing unnecessary walls, allowing natural light to enter, and improving access and circulation to eliminate narrow, confined areas. The result is an open, fluid space—where anyone can appreciate the new perspective and experience a transformed sense of spaciousness.

At Finisterre Architecture, we used 3D models, 360° visualizations, and detailed renderings based on the blueprints to help bring this project to life. In this section, we demonstrate how reality can surpass the project itself—thanks to our close attention to detail. A key aspect of our process is avoiding material trimming. Instead, we design with precise dimensions from the start. This approach is the best way to prevent errors and unexpected complications, because in our view, there’s no such thing as a “small” mistake.
